Lords Media Centre – Fit Out (for Knight Harwood)

The Lords Media Centre is an iconic building in world cricket. The recent fit out included a reconfigured internal space, housing the latest technology for radio and television, providing a state of the art facility, designed by David Millar Architects. This provided an increased internal broadcasting area for 144 match day journalist, an extended external gantry for the photographers.

 

The work was carried out in phases split over two winters, with completion in time for the 2017 season. This was Calanpoint’s 3rd project in the Lord’s Cricket Ground complex.
 

Calanpoint works included all joinery, the creation of a new food and beverage bar within the current dining area; new wall paneling to the corridors and dining area; new doors and frames with enhanced acoustic properties to the broadcasting boxes; new desks for writers and new counter top for photographers.

Lords Grandstand – Fit Out (for Knight Harwood)

BFF were architects for the refurbishment of the Grandstand at Lords, based on a design intent by Populous Architects. The project involved reconfiguring the facilities within the Grandstand, the refurbishment of the main bar and catering facilities, including the ECB Box, MCC Box and the Father Time Bar. The works was completed within the off season and in time for the first Test Match in the spring of 2015.
 

Calanpoint works included the fit out of new catering counters, oak cabinetry and AV display within each of the private sponsors boxes; new catering counters, white cabinetry and AV display within the ECB box; new catering counters, walnut cabinetry and AV display within the MCC box; new bars, acoustic panelling and countertops to the main selling bar; fit out of all 4 sets of WCs within the Grandstand including laminate WC panels, cubicle dividers, Corian basins, mirrors.
